LAGG Inaugural Release 2022 Batch 1 is the first release from LAGG Distillery, the sister distillery to Arran on the south of the island, which is dedicated to heavily peated whisky. It is a limited edition bottled at 50%.
The spirit was distilled from heavily peated malt and matured in first-fill bourbon casks.
The nose has burnt wood, salty sea air and ripe pears, followed by vanilla and fresh citrus. The palate is full and oily, with bonfire smoke, honey, pepper and green apples. The finish is lasting, with a subtle sweetness.
