Lagg – Kilmory (46%)

Lagg Kilmory is a peated single malt from Lagg Distillery on the Isle of Arran, bottled at 46%. It is the new standard bottling in the distillery's core range and was matured in ex-bourbon casks. Lagg has made peated whisky since 2019, and this one carries a smoke level of 50 ppm. The distillery was founded in 2017 and draws its water from a borehole on its own site. The nose is fresh, with sharp heather and citrus alongside drifting smoke. Fruit leads on the palate before the smoke takes over, staying soft and restrained. The finish is long and warming, with citrus and a clear measure of smoke.
