Langatun – Swiss Rye Whiskey (50cl, 44%)

Langatun Swiss Rye is a rye whiskey made entirely from rye, bottled at 44% in a 50cl bottle. It matures mainly in Krogemann casks, which are revitalised, re-toasted former wine casks, with a smaller share in red wine casks that held Merlot or Barolo. Each batch is married from these casks, and the bottles are numbered by hand. It is non-chill-filtered and has no added colouring. The nose is intense, aromatic and sweetish, with grain and wine notes, grape pomace, peach and caramel. Rye comes forward on the palate, with the wine influence receding and a light woodiness remaining. The finish is medium and dry, with delicate fruit, vanilla and dried fruit.
