Laphroaig 10 Year Old is an Islay single malt matured in ex-bourbon barrels. The malted barley is infused with peat smoke at a low temperature before drying. Maturation in ex-bourbon wood sets vanilla and caramel sweetness against the strong, medicinal and maritime smoke. It is bottled at 40% in a 70cl bottle, chill-filtered and with added colour.
The nose brings intense peat smoke and seaweed, with medicinal notes and a touch of sweetness. On the palate, sweetness meets salty accents and firm peat, with sticking-plaster medicinal notes, seaweed, black pepper, vanilla, caramel and sweet oak. The finish is long, with a sweet seaweed note.
