This is the fourteenth batch of Laphroaig's 10 year old Original Cask Strength, an Islay single malt bottled in 2021 at 58.6% ABV without added water.
It keeps the rough, peaty character of the distillery, with the smoke sitting behind the other flavours rather than ahead of them.
The nose brings roasted oak, a little toffee and sweet manuka honey. On the palate come charred oak, toffee, sea salt, coffee and white pepper.
