A 12-year-old Laphroaig single malt from Islay, in a 70cl bottle. It was distilled in April 2012 and bottled in May 2024 by Douglas Laing for the Old Particular range, from a single refill barrel, cask DL17869. Bottled at a natural cask strength of 57.3%, without colouring or chill filtration, it is one of 264 bottles. Laphroaig was founded in 1815 on the southern coast of Islay and is known for heavily peated malt with medicinal, maritime and smoky qualities. The label notes describe sweet peat, apricot jam and a hint of chimney soot on the nose. Covered bacon, toasted barley, cinnamon and buttery pancakes come through on the palate, and the long finish brings lingering phenolic smoke with a briny, oceanic edge.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
