Laphroaig 16 Year Old is an Islay single malt, bottled as a limited edition in a 70cl bottle. It pairs the distillery's medicinal peat smoke with sixteen years of maturation in oak casks.
The nose joins that peat smoke to maritime saltiness, ripe pear, sweet spice, vanilla and honey. The palate is creamy, with well-integrated smoke, caramel, candied citrus fruit and sweet spice, over a salty sea-breeze note.
The finish is long and warming, with returning waves of gentle smoke, sweet fruit and a subtle oak spice.
