Laphroaig 18 Year Old is an Islay single malt, the 2024 release, which brings the 18-year age statement back to the range after almost a decade. It is bottled at 48% in a 70cl bottle, without chill-filtering or added colour.
All 18 years were spent in ex-bourbon American oak, with no sherry casks. Vanilla, ripe fruit and honey sit alongside warm spice and woody peat smoke.
The nose offers peat smoke, vanilla, toffee, gooseberry, Bramley apple and cinnamon, with leather, smoked ham, carbolic soap and seaweed. The palate is oily and sweet, with orange, nectarine, mint, heather honey, iodine and tobacco leaf. The finish is full and sweet, ending in long, woody peat smoke.
