A 21-year-old Islay single malt from Laphroaig, distilled in 1988 and bottled in 2009 for the 60th anniversary of Douglas Laing & Co. It was chosen as one of a small number of commemorative single casks released under the Old Malt Cask label.
Finished in a refill sherry hogshead, it yielded 214 bottles at a natural cask strength of 52.1% ABV, in a 70cl bottle, without chill filtration or added colouring. The sherry adds dried fruits, dark chocolate and warming spice to Laphroaig's medicinal peat smoke, maritime character and oily complexity.
