This is a 20 year old Laphroaig from Islay, released in 2010 in a run of 750 bottles. It was chosen by the distillery manager, John Campbell, together with Philippe Lanusse of Paris Duty Free. The whisky spent about 18 years in a hogshead, then a further two years in a Quarter Cask finish. It is bottled at 46.6% in a 70cl bottle. The nose is described as olive brine, anchovies, smoked fish, a little cider and oysters. The peat is restrained, with little medicinal character, and the finish is long, briny and salty.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
