Laphroaig – 25 Years Old Cask Strength (70cl, 53.4%)

A 25 year old Laphroaig bottled at cask strength, 53.4% abv, in a 70cl bottle. It is a single malt that has not been chill-filtered. Maturation begins in ordinary bourbon barrels of American oak. The whisky is then moved into smaller quarter casks, which give it around 30% more contact with the wood, and it rests in warehouses beside the Atlantic. The use of small casks was a Laphroaig tradition that had died out and has been revived here. The extra wood contact gives a soft, velvety texture that sits alongside the distillery's distinctive peat flavour.
