Laphroaig 30 Years Old is an Islay single malt from the 2024 release, the first in the distillery's annual small series of 30-year-old bottlings. It matured for three decades in American oak bourbon casks and European ex-sherry hogsheads and butts. It was bottled in 2024 at 45.8% in a 70cl bottle, without chill-filtering or added colour. The long maturation softens the way the peat smoke comes through, building via citrus, vanilla cream and toffee towards a sooty finish, while the sherry casks add warmth and spice. The nose has orange and lemon peel, vanilla cream and toffee over fine smoke and warm ash. Bergamot, sweet pastry, fresh thyme and white pepper appear on the palate. The medium-length finish holds smouldering peat, bonfire soot, lemon oil and a hint of medicine.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
