Laphroaig – Càirdeas 2026 French Oak (70cl, 52.6%)

Laphroaig Càirdeas 2026 French Oak is the Islay distillery's annual Friends of Laphroaig edition, and the first Laphroaig matured entirely in French oak. The tight-grained wood adds depth and structure to the heavily peated malt, which keeps its strong peat smoke, maritime saltiness and earthy notes. It is bottled at cask strength, 52.6%, in a 70cl bottle, non-chill-filtered and in natural colour. The whisky is mahogany in colour. The nose is smoky, sweet and spicy, with strong peat, leather and a salty sea note. The palate is oily and full, with campfire smoke, vanilla, black liquorice and bright, fruity notes.
