Laphroaig PX Cask Triple Matured is a single malt from Islay, bottled at 48% ABV in a 1 litre bottle. It is matured in three stages: ex-bourbon barrels, then traditional quarter casks of white oak, and finally a finish in ex-Pedro Ximénez sherry casks.
The colour is old gold. The nose is sweet and smoky, with raisins and liquorice. On the palate, peat smoke sits with layers of oak and a strong, sweet sherry flavour. The finish is long and dry, with heavy peat smoke and thick oak carrying the sherry character.
