Laphroaig Select is a single malt from the Laphroaig distillery, bottled at 40% ABV in a 70cl bottle. Sherry and Pedro Ximenez casks contribute to its character, along with European oak.
The nose opens with soft peat smoke, like embers in a fireplace, then ripe red fruit, coconut, banana, honey and vanilla. The palate is full-bodied and sweet at first, turning dry, with medicinal peat smoke, ash and seaweed, and a spiced background from the oak. The finish is long and dry, with floral notes, marzipan and a lime finish.
