Leapfrog 33 1992/2026 Murray McDavid Bourbon Barrel

A 33-year-old Islay single malt bottled by Murray McDavid as Leapfrog, part of its Mission Gold collection. It was distilled in 1992 on the island's southern coast and matured in a bourbon barrel before bottling in 2026. The nose combines lemon peel, salty coastal air and the light sweetness of pear drops. The palate is velvety, with smoked barley, deep peat and a cigar-box spiciness. The finish brings maritime notes and baked apple pastry, with gentle smoke that stays for a long time.
