Ledaig 10 Year Old Single Malt Whisky (70cl, 46.3%)

A 10-year-old peated single malt from Ledaig, the smoky malt of the Tobermory distillery on the Isle of Mull, founded in 1798. It is bottled at 46.3% in a 70cl bottle. Ledaig takes its name from the distillery's early name. It is made on the same stills as Tobermory, but from peated barley, which gives an earthy, almost medicinal smokiness. The nose is light and balanced, with gentle peat and smoke, barley and malt, walnut, pine resin, iodine, dried fruit and nuts. The palate is medium-bodied and rich, with spice and smoke over charred oak, and black pepper and earth. The finish is medium in length, with smoky spice and sea salt.
