This is a heavily peated Ledaig single malt from Mull, distilled in 2007 and bottled at 10 years old. It is the ninth release in the Artist series and is limited to 634 bottles, each at 60.8% in a 70cl bottle. Matured in sherry casks, it is described as mineral and medicinal, with enough softness from the wood to keep it balanced. Peated Ledaig is made with phenols of 30 to 40 ppm. The nose opens with toast and ginger root, then candied lemon, green liquorice and nutmeg. The palate is medicinal, like a cough sweet, with coconut. The finish is long, recalling porridge, with mint, verbena and apple.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
