Ledaig – 12 Year Old Gordon & MacPhail Discovery Range (70cl, 43%)

This is a 12-year-old Ledaig, an Island single malt bottled by Gordon & MacPhail for their Discovery Range at 43% in a 70cl bottle. The Discovery packaging is colour-coded, and the grey of this bottle marks a smoky whisky. The other colours in the series are green for bourbon maturation and purple for sherry casks. Ledaig is also associated with grilled meat flavours. The nose offers rich vanilla, smoked cured meat and baked apple. The palate brings stewed fruits, creamy milk chocolate and a base of citrus, and the finish is lingering peat smoke.
