A 17 year old single malt from Ledaig, the distillery on the Isle of Mull, bottled by Signatory Vintage in its Cask Strength Collection. It comes in a 70cl bottle at 64.9% ABV.
The whisky was distilled in 2005 and matured in a single refill sherry butt. It is natural colour and non-chill-filtered, and 463 bottles were filled.
The nose offers smoked stewed pear and apple with salty sea air, seaweed, new leather, polished oak, cured meats and a hint of iodine. The palate is creamy and smoky, with nutmeg, clove, smoked butter, yellow stone fruits, orange peel and soot. The finish is medium, with cigar box, pencil shavings, dark toffee, stewed pear, ashy smoke and soft spices.
