This is a limited-edition Ledaig, the peated single malt from Tobermory distillery. It spent nine years maturing exclusively in Bordeaux red wine casks and was bottled at cask strength, 56.8%, in a 70cl bottle.
The nose brings eucalyptus oil, smoked fudge and carbolic soap. The palate offers burning heather, pine cones, grape skins, melon and wood-smoked meats, moving to honeysuckle, heather, lime pastilles and lingering wisps of smoke in the finish.
