Ledaig Rioja Cask Finish Sinclair Series (70cl, 46.3%)

This is a Ledaig single malt from Tobermory Distillery, the first bottling in the Sinclair Series, which is named after the distillery's founder, John Sinclair. It is finished in Rioja wine casks and bottled at 46.3% in a 70cl bottle. Peaty character sits alongside the ripe red fruit sweetness that the Rioja casks bring. The nose offers red grapes, cinnamon and rose petal jelly, with a wave of coastal smoke. On the palate come grassy peat, stewed plum, raspberry, almond and dark chocolate, and the finish brings salted caramel, cherry and clove.
