Lindores MCDXCIV (1494) is the commemorative first release of Lindores, a Lowland single malt bottled at 46% ABV in a 70cl bottle. Fermentation runs for 117 hours, and the spirit is distilled in a sister spirits still, which is in effect two stills and gives double the contact with copper. The whisky then matured in former bourbon, wine and sherry casks. The release supports the preservation of Lindores Abbey.
The nose offers vanilla, caramel, sweet pear and caramelised apples. On the palate there is dried fruit, vanilla and citrus, with a light touch of spice.
