Back to the Roots is a 12 year old Linkwood from Speyside, a small batch from the third release of the WhiskyHeroes series by Brave New Spirits. It was finished in first-fill Tennessee bourbon barrels.
Brave New Spirits filled 379 bottles at 56.7%, in 70cl bottles, without chill-filtering or added colour.
Ripe apricot and juicy peach mark the nose, with vanilla and a touch of toasted grain. The palate combines strong oak spice and vanilla with sweet oats and a creamy, full texture. The finish is long, spicy and lightly sweet, with oak and a faint grain note.
