Loch Lomond 12 Year Old is a Highland single malt Scotch whisky from the distillery in Alexandria, bottled at 46% ABV, non-chill-filtered, in a 750ml bottle.
It matured for twelve years in bourbon, refill and re-charred American oak casks. Fermentation runs for about 92 hours with four yeast strains, and the casks are looked after by the distillery's own cooperage.
The nose is green apple, ripe pear, lemon and golden cereal. The palate has pear, lemon, creamy vanilla, biscuit, baked apple, brown sugar and yellow plum. The finish is moderately drying, with vanilla, light woody smoke and a faint hint of peat.
