Loch Lomond 12 Year Old is a Highland single malt that combines spirit from the distillery's straight neck stills with spirit from traditional swan neck stills. It is bottled at 46% in a 70cl bottle, not chill-filtered and with no added colouring.
It matures in three kinds of American oak: bourbon casks, refill casks and newly charred casks. Master Blender Michael Henry puts the matured parts together.
The nose shows crisp green apple, ripe pear and fresh lemon over golden cereal notes. On the palate, orchard fruit meets lemon meringue, with a light sponge sweetness. The medium finish brings gentle wood smoke and a lasting tart edge.
