Inchmoan 12 Year Old is a peated single malt from Loch Lomond, bottled at 46% in a 70cl bottle and non-chill-filtered. It brings together whisky from the distillery's Straight Neck stills and from more traditional swan neck stills, and it was aged in three types of American oak cask.
Soft smoke and warming spice are the focus, with wood and peat smoke, roasted coffee and green apple, and clove and aniseed on the finish.
The nose is dry peat smoke with vanilla syrup and cracked black pepper. On the palate, medicinal peat and smoked bacon lead into roasted coffee bean, clove and star anise. The finish is long and waxy, with a citrus hop note and gooseberry.
