Loch Lomond – Inchmoan 12 Year Old (70cl, 46%)

Inchmoan 12 Year Old is a peated single malt from the Loch Lomond distillery, bottled at 46% in a 70cl bottle. It brings together malt from the distillery's traditional swan neck pot still and from its straight neck pot still. The whisky is matured for 12 years in recharred American oak and refill bourbon casks, which give a sweet vanilla background to a soft peat character with smoke and spiciness. The nose is dry, smouldering peat smoke with vanilla syrup and cracked black pepper. On the palate, sweet medicinal peat and smoked bacon lead to roasted coffee bean, clove and star anise, before green apple and pear develop.
