Loch Lomond – Peated Rioja Cask (40%)

Loch Lomond Peated Rioja Cask is a peated Highland single malt finished in Spanish red wine casks, bottled at 40% ABV. The spirit is made in two types of still: swan neck pot stills give a lighter, fruity style, while straight neck stills give a stronger, more structured one. After maturing in American oak, the whisky is finished in first fill Rioja casks. It is usually described as balancing orchard fruit, honey and gentle peat smoke with dark berries, red fruit and a touch of spice from the wine wood.
