Loch Lomond – Special Edition The 150th Open (46%)

This Loch Lomond single malt was made for the 150th Open Championship in 2022, to mark the distillery's partnership with The Open and its golf ambassador Colin Montgomerie. Master blender Michael Henry created it with Montgomerie. The whisky was matured in American oak, then finished in Bordeaux claret red wine barriques. It is bottled at 46%, non-chill-filtered, and comes in a carton carrying Montgomerie's signature. The nose is fresh and fruity, with peach, pear, red apple and rose-like floral notes. On the palate, strawberry, peach and lime lead to creamy fudge and a light biscuit sweetness. The finish is long, with lingering oak spice and soft smoke.
