Loch Lomond – The Nine 2009 1st Fill Limousin Oak Hogshead Cask 2/6 (55.2%)

This is a Loch Lomond single malt from The Nine series, distilled in 2009 and bottled in 2023 at 55.2% ABV. It matured in a refill American oak hogshead and was then finished in a first-fill Limousin oak hogshead. The release is limited to 282 bottles, each in a tube, and it is non-chill-filtered and of natural colour. The finishing cask brings caramelised pineapple and fresh apple juice, mixed with melted brown sugar and creamy vanilla custard. Lemon sorbet and poached pears follow, then toffee and ground ginger spice, showing the Inchfad style made on a traditional swan neck pot still.
