Loch Lomond – The Nine 2010 1st Fill Oloroso Hogshead Cask 3/6 (56.8%)

This is a single malt from Loch Lomond, cask 3/6 in The Nine series. It was distilled in 2010 and bottled in 2023 at 56.8% ABV, without chill-filtering and with natural colour. The whisky matured in a refill American oak hogshead and was then finished in a first fill Oloroso hogshead. Only 294 bottles were filled, and the spirit comes from the Inchfad style, made on a traditional swan neck pot still. The nose opens with honeyed raisins and warming cinnamon. Stewed apple and toffee sauce follow, then candied walnuts and warming oak spices.
