Loch Lomond – The Nine 2011 Refill Bourbon Barrel (59.4%)

This is a single malt Scotch whisky from Loch Lomond, distilled in 2011 and bottled in 2023 at 59.4% ABV. It was matured in a refill bourbon barrel and released in a tube as a run of 228 bottles. It is non-chill-filtered and of natural colour. The whisky shows the Inchmurrin style, made with straight neck pot stills run on a high cut. The nose and palate are described as ripe peaches and sweet vanilla oak, then sugared almonds and sharp lemon zest. Poached pear and icing sugar follow, with cinnamon and toasted coconut flakes at the close.
