Loch Lomond – The Nine 2013 1st Fill Rivesaltes Hogshead Cask 5/6 (56.3%)

This Loch Lomond single malt was distilled in 2013 and bottled in 2023 at 56.3% ABV. It matured in a refill American oak hogshead and was then finished in a first fill Rivesaltes hogshead. It is non-chill-filtered, of natural colour, and limited to 312 bottles. It is an example of the Inchmurrin style, made with the straight neck pot still and a high cut, and it is unpeated. The notes describe layers of golden syrup, apricot jam and vanilla custard, followed by orange peel and juicy grapefruit. Candied ginger and lime syrup come next, then honeyed raisins and oak spice.
