Loch Lomond – The Original Peated Rioja Cask Single Malt Scotch (40%)

Loch Lomond The Original Peated Rioja Cask is a Highland single malt from Loch Lomond Distillery, made from peated and unpeated spirit distilled in both straight-neck and swan-neck pot stills. It is bottled at 40%. The whisky is first matured in a selection of American oak casks, then finished in first-fill Rioja red wine casks, which add fruit richness to a gently smoky character. The nose combines gentle woodsmoke, sweet malt biscuits and fresh redcurrants. On the palate, smooth honey, ripe peaches and juicy pears develop alongside dark chocolate and orange, with a delicate smoky undertone. The finish is medium in length and gently warming, with woodsmoke and soft fruit sweetness.
