Loch Lomond – The Original Triple Oak (40%)

Loch Lomond The Original Triple Oak is a Highland single malt bottled at 40%. It is matured entirely in American oak, split between first-fill bourbon casks, refill casks and re-charred casks. The spirit comes from two kinds of still. Swan neck pot stills give a fruity, approachable character, while the distillery's straight neck stills produce a heavier, oilier spirit. Both go into this bottling. Each cask type adds something different: first-fill brings vanilla, caramel and fruit, and the re-charred wood adds a layer of soft smoke. It is described as orchard fruit, honey and very gentle smoke.
