A 24 year old Highland single malt from Lochside, distilled in 1981 and bottled in 2005 at 50% ABV. It comes from single cask 612 in the Lombard Jewels of Scotland series, and this is bottle 54 of 258.
Lochside was a distillery in Montrose, and its building was demolished in 2005.
The nose is smoky with hints of toffee. The palate is slippery-smooth with a sugary rush, big and very rich, and the finish is hot and fruity.
