Refill bourbon barrel
A 31-year-old Highland single malt from Lochside, bottled by Gordon & MacPhail in its Connoisseurs Choice range as part of Recollection Series 2. It was matured in a single refill bourbon barrel, and 57 bottles were produced at 47.1% ABV in a 70cl bottle. Lochside distillery stood in Montrose until 2005, and its bottlings are now uncommon. The nose begins with mellow vanilla, then waxy lemon peel, dried exotic fruit and a touch of ginger. The palate is sweet and fruity, with peach and passionfruit, then hints of blackcurrant, liquorice and pepper. The finish is medium, with subtle herbal notes.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
