Golden Union is an English blended malt from London Distillery Company, bottled at 50% ABV in a 70cl bottle. It is the first release in a new series that showcases English malt, and it is made from whisky drawn from both hogsheads and barrels.
The bottling celebrates whiskymaking across the country and is said to reflect both tradition and modernity. London Distillery Company describes itself as the first London whisky-maker for over 100 years.
The nose combines creamy toffee, buttery corn, breakfast cereals, meringue and waxed lemons. The palate is mouthcoating, with citrus, tropical fruit, white pepper, milk chocolate, oats and buttered toast. The finish is long, with zesty lemon and tingling cask char.
