Yesteryear is a 6-year-old single rye from London Distillery Company, bottled at 52.3% ABV in a 70cl bottle. It takes its name from the distillery's LV-1767 Edition, which was released in 2018 as the first new London whisky for over 100 years.
The rye was first matured in English oak, then finished in first-fill oloroso sherry octaves and a refill sherry quarter cask.
The nose brings Seville oranges, sugar-coated red berries, clove, cinnamon, toffee and chocolate. The palate is thick with marmalade and buttery toffee beside classic rye spice, malty biscuits, toasted almonds and cocoa nibs. The finish is lingering, with cinnamon and herbaceous rye.
