This is Long John 12 Years Old, presented in a ceramic jug decorated with an image of the distillery. The jug holds 75cl and the whisky is bottled at 43%.
The nose is led by malted barley and toasted cereal, with a soft sweetness of honey, caramel and vanilla and a faint fruitiness. On the palate it is full-bodied and creamy, with toffee, vanilla fudge and raisins alongside gentle oak and light spice.
The finish is medium to long and warm, slightly smoky, with dried herbs and toasted wood.
