Longrow – 18 Year Old 2015 (70cl, 46%)

This is an 18 year old peated single malt from Longrow, the Campbeltown name made at Springbank. It is bottled at 46% in a 70cl bottle. Its long maturation in traditional dunnage warehouses shaped a balanced, many-sided character. Longrow's malt is dried for a full 48 hours over Islay peat fire, and the smoke is part of the whisky from nose to finish. The nose is sweet with vanilla, marshmallow, rock sugar and ripe fruit, including blackberries, mandarins and plums, with a little linseed oil and layered smoke. The palate is sweet and oily with peat smoke and fruit, leading to a medium, creamy, warming finish.
