Longrow – 21 Year Old Release 2023 (46%)

This is the 2023 release of Longrow 21 Year Old, a heavily peated single malt from the Campbeltown distillery that also makes Springbank. It matured in 65% sherry casks and 35% bourbon casks and is bottled at 46% ABV, without colouring or chill-filtration. Longrow dries its malt over peat smoke for 48 hours and distils twice. The nose brings beach bonfire, roasted hazelnuts, dark berries and cedar. The palate is sweet, complex and almost elegant, opening slowly with warm spice, maritime notes, smoke and Havana tobacco.
