Longrow is the heavily peated malt made at the Springbank distillery in Campbeltown. This 21-year-old 2022 edition was distilled twice and matured in a mix of 60% sherry casks, 30% bourbon casks and 10% Chardonnay casks. It is bottled at 46% without chill filtration or added colouring.
The nose is a soft peat with smoked mussels and cured meat, balanced by apricot and peach. On the palate the peat grows stronger while keeping a coastal character, with seaweed, sea fennel, peach, apricot and ripe berries. The finish is soft and creamy, with raspberry, caramelised butter and lingering peat smoke.
