Lost Lantern Single Cask #5 Whiskey Del Bac Arizona Single Malt (75cl, 64.6%)

This is a single cask Arizona single malt from Whiskey Del Bac in Tucson, hand-selected and bottled by Lost Lantern. It is the first in a trio of casks chosen from the distillery. Bottled at 64.6% (129.2 proof) in a 750ml bottle, it is cask strength, non-chill-filtered and has no colour added. The whiskey is made from 100% malted barley, 60% of it smoked with mesquite wood, a Southwestern take on peat-smoked barley. Founder Stephen Paul once made furniture from mesquite. It was aged for 2 years in a used cask, and 66 bottles were produced. It is big, very smoky and leathery, like burnt embers on a grill, with a rich herbal note.
