Luxardo Amaro Abano is a classic medium-bitter Italian amaro from the Veneto region, dating back to 1952 and named after the spa town of Abano.
It is made by infusing herbs, roots and botanicals into a neutral spirit. The recipe includes cardamom, cinnamon and baking spices, bitter orange peel, cinchona and herbal roots, with botanicals sourced in part from the Euganean Hills.
The nose shows cardamom, orange zest, clove and herbal spice with hints of cocoa. The palate is medium-bodied, with citrus peel, baking spice, cola-like sweetness and herbal bitterness. The finish is smooth and gently bitter, with lingering spice, chocolate and orange.
