Mac-Talla Flora Islay Single Malt (70cl, 48.2%)

Flora is an Islay single malt from Mac-Talla, the label of the Morrison family, bottled at 48.2% in a 70cl bottle. It was matured in 70% sherry casks, Oloroso and second-fill Pedro Ximenez, and 30% bourbon casks. It is non-chill-filtered and has no added colour. Lightly peated and floral, it is meant to reflect the wildflower meadows and coastal air of Islay. Mac-Talla is Gaelic for 'echo', and the Morrisons have been on Islay for five generations. The nose is rich, floral and spicy with oak. Heather, soft peat smoke and nuts show on the palate, and the finish is lasting, with delicate smoke.
