Mac-Talla Strata is a 15 year old Islay single malt bottled at 46% ABV. It was matured in casks that previously held bourbon and Spanish sherry. It is non-chill-filtered and has no added colour.
The nose is led by peat smoke and barley malt, with shell and sea-salt notes, a little citrus and sweet sherry fruit. The palate is soft, with smoke, dark chocolate, vanilla and warm spice.
The finish is long, with a gentle warmth, spicy oak and a hint of caramel.
