Macallan – 12 Year Old 110 Proof Sherry Oak (70cl, 55%)

This is a twelve-year-old single malt from Macallan, matured only in sherry-seasoned oak casks and bottled at 110 proof, or 55%, in a 70cl bottle. It belongs to the Sherry Oak collection. The barley comes from the distillery's own estate at Easter Elchies in Speyside, and the spirit is distilled in small copper pot stills. The nose is warm, with sticky dates and soft cinnamon. The palate has rich oak and a little ginger warmth alongside the fruit of the sherry casks. The finish is long and warm, with sherry fruit, oak and spice.
