This is The Macallan 12 Year Old Double Cask, a Speyside single malt bottled at 40% in a 70cl bottle.
It was matured for twelve years in European oak and American oak casks, all previously seasoned with Oloroso sherry from Jerez. The colour is natural, with no artificial colouring added.
The nose brings creamy butterscotch, candied orange peel, vanilla custard and delicate ginger, with toffee apple and oak spices. The palate is rich and honeyed, balanced by citrus and dried fruits, with caramelised ginger, vanilla and toasted oak. The finish is medium to long, with oak spice, sweet fruit, clove and nutmeg.
